Harambee 2009 – Group one departs

On Wednesday 22nd, July group one left their villages with fond farewells from the locals. It had been a fantastic project and all were sad to leave.

Their work was very much appreciated and the memories created will live forever with both the volunteers and the community.

The following day people had for themselves to do Safaris in Nakuru National Park, a nice walk up Mount Longonot(2776m) or just a shopping day in Nakuru. A nice relaxing day was had by all.

The team returned to Nairobi on the Friday where they spent a couple of hours in the village market – always an experience.

Everyone on the team sat down that night to have the final dinner of the trip where more stories and highlights of the trip were discussed and a good night was had by all.

The team broke up on the Saturday with some of them staying on for Safaris in the Masai Mara, some going on to climb Mt Kenya and others returning home.

The new team arrived in on Saturday night… the journey continues.

Friends of Londiani thanks each one of them for their valuable contribution, hard work and teamwork. We look forward to the 12th September.
