Every year, approximately 30,000 children in Kericho County depend on routine vaccinations to protect them from potentially life-threatening diseases. But unreliable electricity can put temperature-sensitive vaccines at risk.
Vaccines need reliable refrigeration from the moment they arrive at a health facility until they are administered. When electricity is interrupted, maintaining the required temperature becomes much more difficult.

Brighter Communities Worldwide proposes an innovative last-mile vaccine access initiative that combines solar energy systems with solar direct-drive vaccine refrigeration – ensuring vaccines can be safely stored and delivered in facilities with unreliable electricity.
