The BIG Walk

Quoting the well-loved African proverb “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together” – we are asking you to join the BIG Walk as collectively we cover 10,000km, the distance from Cork to Kenya and raise vital funds to provide clean water for communities in Kenya.

Girls and women walk up to 10km every day to collect water from ponds, streams and rivers – hours missed from school and work. It’s the only way to get water for drinking, cooking and cleaning and this water is contaminated and can transmit diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid and polio.

Take on the BIG Walk challenge and help us raise vital funds to provide clean water.

Take part as an individual, as a family, with friends or work colleagues, schools or clubs.  Make it a one off event or make it a regular challenge throughout the summer months.

We have chosen 10,000km – the distance from Cork to Kenya – as the target to reach between now and the end of October.
